About

ARTIST BIO:
The boredom of being a rocket scientist led Jeff Evans to pursue photography as a creative outlet. He’s shown his photos in Chicago, Salt Lake City, Raleigh, North Carolina, New York City and Brighton, England.

ARTIST STATEMENT:
I photograph ordinary objects and situations that, because they're ordinary and everyday, often go unnoticed. Once noticed, they defy expectations since there’s something out of the ordinary about them.

The photographs are made in an objective documentary style, but their humor undermines their objectivity.

I’m interested in seeing with clarity, in elements of surprise, humor, the slightly surreal, and teasing the viewer about what is real and what is not.
